LOS ANGELES / MOSCOW – About 41,000 child COVID-19 cases were reported in the United States in the week ending Dec 8, an increase of about 50 percent over the weekly average in the previous eight weeks, according to the latest report by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the Children's Hospital Association.
Almost 15.1 million children in the country have tested positive for COVID-19 since the onset of the pandemic.
About 127,000 of these cases have been added in the past 4 weeks, according to the report.
Reported cases are likely a "substantial undercount" of COVID-19 cases among children, said the report.

Russia
Russia has registered 7,532 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the nationwide tally to 21,685,037, said the official monitoring and response center on Wednesday.
The center said the nationwide death toll increased by 55 to 392,775, and the number of recoveries grew by 7,675 to 21,081,129.
